A dwarf galaxy from the APOSTLE project, seen in dark matter density (greyscale) with overlaid gas density (purple-yellow). APOSTLE is a collection of smoothed particle hydrodynamics cosmological simulations of galaxy formation and evolution. The simulations being visualised were carried out at the memory-intensive DiRAC facility (i.e. cosma).
